    建国后，司法行政工作由县人民法院兼管。1980年11月，建立平原县司法局，专管司法行政工作。1981年3月，建立平原县法律顾问处和平原县公证处，共有干部3人。1984年5月，司法局下设民事调解股和法律宣传股。1985年12月，司法局（包括法律顾问处和公证处）共有工作人员18人，全县19个乡镇均设有司法助理员1人。
