    平原县传统副业，以作坊加工农副产品为主，其次是小手工业、采集和运输等。其经营方式，以户办为主，小本经营为主。建国后，随着集体经济的形成和发展，副业生产出现了集体和家庭两种经营形式。六十年代后期，副业生产开始由手工操作向机械化转化。中共十一届三中全会以后，副业的经营形式出现了多层次多样化，有些传统项目已形成专业化和企业性生产。
