    建国后，全县性的体育运动大会，每年举行一次或两次。有时田径、球类合幷举行，有时单项进行。运动会一般由县体委、教育局、团县委、县工会联合主办，地点多在县城。
    1951年至1983年，全县共举办田径运动大会21次，比赛项目四十余个；举办篮球比赛21次，乒乓球比赛12次，排球比赛七次。
