    清代无专管农业的机构，只有征收钱粮的征收处。
    1912年，县政府设劝业所兼管农业，后改称实业局、实业科、建设局、第四科。
    1948年，县政府设实业科，后改为建设科。1950年设农业科。1951年设植棉组。1956年2月，县人委建农业局。1972年1月改为农林局。1981年8月农、林分开，并设农业局。1984年又改称农牧渔业局。
    1985年，农牧渔业局下设办公室、畜牧兽医工作站、经营管理站、种子站、植保站、良种场、土肥站、水产站、科教办、能源办，全系统共206人。
