    清代，县衙设户房，负责征收各项粮款。
    民国时期，县财政科(财粮科、粮秣科)负责税收工作。1946年6月财政科下设税务股，在各区设税务所。
    1949年10月，县人民政府建税务局，于区设税务所。1958年5月，与财政局合并为财税局。1962年4月又复建税务局。“文革”期间曾改称财税组。自1973年3月税务由财政局负责。1981年1月改称为财税局。1983年1月1日，财税分家，成立税务局至今，负责全县工商税的征收。1985年，税务局下设办公室、人秘股、计会统股、税征一股、二股、车站税务所，于各乡、镇分设20处税务所，其中禹城镇设一所、二所。
    农业税的征收，历来由财政局负责。
