    民国29年，始有少量进口马口铁，工匠用来制作烧水壶、喷水壶等。
    解放后，本县对金属材料用项猛增多，首先用于工厂，继之建筑用铁梁、铁门窗，生活用铁床等。1964年，物资局开始经营金属。供应方式分计划内和计划外两种，1975年钢材销售量为325吨，1980年达到4447吨。1982年，成立物资综合公司，1984年改称金属建材公司，经营金属、建材两大类。1985年销售3247吨。
