    民国年间，民国县政府从济南购置织布机4架，招收贫家子弟20余人，聘技师1人，曾开办“贫民工厂”，由于经营不善，生产二年即倒闭。
    1977年5月，县棉纺织厂建成投产。1985年有职工2231人，分8个车间，产品销往国内外。
    1979年县皮革厂改建为织布厂，有织布机40台，职工130人。1985年产棉布80余万米，61万平方米，产值61.8万元，亏损2.9万元。
