    农业中学创建于1958年，在大跃进的影响下，全县农中当年达32处。部分社队还办起了“红专学校”。至1962年，全部下马。
    1964年，贯彻党中央两种教育制度的指示，全县办起农业中学18处。办学形式有社办、大队联办等。1965年，县教育局合理调整了农中布局，保留9处农中。
    “文革”期间，全县又办起多处农中，至1983年全部停办。
