    本县环境保护工作起步较晚。1984年，县城乡建设环境保护委员会建立后，专设环境保护股，具体负责环境保护工作。有关单位本着“综合利用，化害为利”的原则，进行废气、废水回收，变废为宝。1985年，县农药厂回收盐酸70.8吨，亚硫酸钠166吨。
    1985年开始，对13个单位征收排污费，为污染治理提供了补助资金。
