    民国时期，区（乡）公所有少部分公房。
    建国后，除有公房的少数区（乡）外，大多数区（乡）从没收的地主的房屋中留出一部分作为人民政府用房。1958年人民公社化后，县、社陆续投资建设公社、管理区住房和机关、学校、工厂、卫生院（所）等。到1985年底，乡（镇）驻地机关共占地9,387.7亩，建筑房屋2.36万间，建筑面积35.33万平方米。新建房屋为砖木结构，也有少部分为砖混结构。
