    建国前后，建筑材料为土坯和小窑砖瓦。1958年，从外地请来技工4名，帮助在城关公社小许家村东建起1座18门砖瓦窑，组织工人140人，年产砖303万块、瓦3.8万片。年产值6.2万元。1959年后，全县一部分公社开始重视建筑材料的生产。到1978年，全县26个公社先后都办起了砖瓦窑厂，有的公社建有2处，基本满足了城乡建设需要。1985年，全县建材工业企业发展到36处，年总产值为820万元。
