    建国后，井泉灌溉有砖井逐步发展到机井。1955年5月17日在小常家村召开打井技术交流会，县拨款8,000元扶持打井。1956年冬在定杆李村举办打井下泉技术训练班，培训技术人员150人，全县掀起打井抗旱高潮，取得了一定的成绩。但也出现过追求数量，忽视质量的弊病，有的打了一些不出水的废井。60年代开始推广机井，发展机电配套。随着农业生产发展的需要，深机井、简易机井、手压井先后出现，使井灌面积逐年增加，赋农业灌溉之利。
