    从唐代到清光绪年间，佛教、道教、伊斯兰教、天主教、基督教相继传入德州。建国后，宗教界实行“三自”革新，驱逐了披着宗教外衣的反革命分子，废除了教内的剥削和压迫，使宗教活动得到了正常的发展。“文化大革命”中，宗教活动被迫停止。1978年后，党的宗教政策得到落实，宗教活动又相继恢复，并有了较大发展。
