    今市（城区），是在原州城基础上扩大而成。原州城，本北魏太和年间所筑之鬲县城，隋、唐为长河城，又称小壶城，宋、金称将陵城，元称陵州城，明、清之德州城，民国时之德县城，今德州市。明以前为土城，明洪武年间改筑砖城。新中国成立后，城垣拆除。
