    利国乡党委、政府十分重视体育事业。近几年来，加大投资力度，强化组织领导，
体育事业取得丰硕成果。1995年，被省体委命名为“山东省体育先进乡镇”。1996年，
乡党委、 政府又征地2.8公顷，为中学建起高标准操场，投资10余万元，增添体育器
械设备。中、小学每年举行春季、秋季两次运动会，在地、县举办的乒乓球、篮球比
赛中多次获奖。
