    1988～1991年沾化的火化率仅为18％，土葬和封建迷信一度回潮。殡葬改革是移
风易俗开展社会主义精神文明建设的重要内容。1992年县委、县政府把殡葬改革列入
党委、政府工作议程，不断加大工作力度，大力推行火化，提倡丧事简办，严禁搞封
建迷信活动和铺张浪费， 火化率逐年提高。1992～1997年累计化尸13800具，火化率
达98％。 1997年投资12万元更换新火化炉。 是年春， 开展平坟还田活动， 共平坟
69165座，还耕111公顷。
