    县域处地震多发地带。 自1840年以来有记载的地震共5次，但震中都不在境内，
系邻区地震波及邑地。1888年6月13日(清光绪十四年五月初四)，渤海7.5级大震，波
及惠民县境，十余日不已。烈度7～8度，房屋倒塌无算。1937年8月1日，山东省西南
部地震， 波及惠民县。1966年3月8日、22日，河北省邢台两次地震，震级分别6.8级
和7.2级。 惠民县均有强震感。1969年7月18日，渤海7.4级大震，波及惠民。地
震烈度为6～7度。1976年7月28日，河北唐山发生7.8级大震，波及惠民，有少量房屋
倒塌。
