    为迎接“全国体育先进市”复查，完善体育中学“六配套”和“城市五达标”办学要求，市委、市政府研究决定投资140万元在体校内新建一所集教学、办公、学生公寓为一体的综合教学楼，以改善体育中学现在的办学条件。1998年底教学楼基础工程已完成，目前二期工程正在进行中。为解决教工住房困难，体育中学新教工宿舍楼已获准投建，开工在即。
