    据民国8年的乡土调查表明，1919年的总人口为225025人，其中男性125595人，女性99430人，性别比例为126（女=100，下同），性别比例失衡。至建国时的1949年，在总人口中，男性156368人，女性156058人，性别比例为101，性别比例已趋向平衡。1962年，在总人口中，男性254549人，女性243668人，性别比例降为98，至1964年，第二次人口普查时，性别比例恢复到101。1982年第三次人口普查时的性别比例为105。
    1990年第四次人口普查结果，在总人口中，男性为285932人，占50.78%；女性为277133人，占49.22%。性别比例103.18。
