    1949年5月，滨县县政府设司法科。1950年4月司法科改为县人民法院。之后，司法行政工作一直由人民法院兼管。1980年10月设滨县司法局。1982年11月设滨州市司法局。1987年3月县、市司法局合并，年底全局共有干部38人、职工5人。设办公室、宣教科、调解科、法律顾问处、公证处。1985年滨城镇设法律服务站，1990年全市17个乡、镇、办均配备司法助理，并普遍建起法律服务站，有51名工作人员。主要业务：开展法制宣传、人民调解、律师公证等。
