    据1987年实测，国道山广路滨州段日交通量3194车次，滨郑路滨州段为3275车次，省道永莘路滨州段2428车次，滨五路滨州段为2183车次，滨孤路滨州段为1466车次，县道码堡路2054车次。虽然路况不断改善，但交通事故时有发生。
    为了确保交通安全，加强车辆的管理，市公安交通警察大队所属车辆管理所，对全部机动车辆严格进行年审年查，对驾驶员进行技术培训、技术考核和安全教育。
    市交通局与市交通警察大队合设交通检査站2处，即：小营（大桥南）检查站和滨城检査站，随时对上路车辆监督检查，及时处理交通肇事和清除路障，保证境内各路段的畅通。
