       根据1998年重新修订的《中华人民共和国兵役法》，经区征兵工作由征兵工作领导小组（由工委分管领导及人事劳动局、纪工委、社会事业局、公安局、教育局、宣传部等部门分管负责人组成，征兵工作领导小组根据人事变动适时进行调整）统一领导，由武装办具体组织协调，按照宣传发动、上站体检、政治审查、组织家访、集体定兵、新兵交接的步骤依次开展。上站体检主要依托环翠区武装部体检站进行。2004～2010年，按时完成历次新兵征集任务。
