       1994年4月11日，设立威海市公安局经济技术开发区分局，为威海市公安局派出机构，下辖蒿泊派出所、城子边防派出所。1997年5月，设立海埠路派出所。2002年2月，设立西苑派出所 ；3月，海埠路派出所更名为皇冠派出所；6月，城子边防派出所更名为沟北边防派出所。2003年5月，崮山派出所、泊于派出所、崮山边防派出所和泊于边防派出所由环翠区成建制划归经区（泊于派出所与泊于边防派出所合署办公）。2007年7月，蒿泊派出所更名为凤林派出所。2008年3月，泊于派出所对外单独办公。至2010年末，分局下辖皇冠、凤林、西苑、崮山、泊于5个内陆派出所，沟北、崮山、泊于3个边防派出所。
