1993年5月，设立经区标准计量物价检查所，为正科级事业单位，隶属经济贸易发展局。1994年10月，物价职能由经济贸易发展局划归经济监督管理局。2001年3月，物价职能由审计（物价）局（由经济监督管理局1998年8月更名而来）划归经济发展局（经济贸易发展局1998年8月更名为经济发展局），局内设物价科，下设物价计量所。2002年6月，物价计量所增挂价格认证中心牌子。2005年3月，物价计量所更名为物价检查所。2007年10月，物价科撤销，职能并入物价检查所，更名为物价检查监督管理办公室（价格认证中心）。
