1992年8月，设立经区工商审计局，行使工商管理和审计监督职能。1994年10月，更名为经区经济监督管理局，取消工商管理职能，主要行使审计、物价监督管理职能。1998年8月，更名为经区审计（物价）局。2001年3月，经区审计（物价）局与监察局（纪委、政法委）合署，设立经区监察审计局（纪工委、政法委），原审计（物价）局物价职能划归经区经济发展局。2009年3月，更名为经区监察审计局（纪工委），原监察审计局（纪工委、政法委）政法职能划归新设立的经区政法委员会。
