       轻纺服装产业是经区传统产业。经区成立初期，产业规模较小，没有规模以上企业。2001年起，随着威海尼特服装有限公司、威海煜丰服装有限公司等企业的入驻及威海海马地毯有限公司的扩建，逐渐形成规模。至2010年末，全区拥有规模以上轻纺服装加工企业35家，从业人员约9300人，具备生产纺织系列服装2000万套、毛绒玩具150万只、地毯2000万平方米的能力。2010年，完成工业产值24.9亿元，占规模以上工业总产值的6.4%。
