    2018年，环翠区始终高度重视生态文明建设，坚持生态立区，将生态环境保护作为一项政治任务和民生工程抓好抓实。全面抓好大气污染防治、水污染防治，搞好全国第二次污染源普查，开展环保督察“回头看”工作。年内，排查整治“散乱污”企业285家，完成燃煤小锅炉清零工作，为打造“精致城市·幸福威海”首善之区奠定良好的环境基础。
    12月28日，威海市环境保护局环翠分局更名为威海市生态环境局环翠分局。
