    2018年，全区城镇化建设工作牢牢把握建设现代化“精致城市·幸福威海”首善之区的目标定位，在巩固完善中心城区功能的同时，大力推进小城镇建设，提高全域城市化水平。全区建有国家建制镇示范试点镇——张村镇，全国美丽宜居小镇——张村镇，全国重点镇——张村镇、温泉镇；建有省级美丽宜居小镇、省级绿色生态示范镇各3个，为张村镇、羊亭镇、温泉镇，省级重点示范镇——张村镇，省级特色小镇——羊亭镇、温泉镇；建有国家级美丽宜居村庄1个，省级美丽宜居村庄5个，省级传统村落2个，美丽乡村精品示范村2个，美丽乡村省级示范村6个；建有美丽乡村市级示范村5个。
