1983年，全市修理行业有14个单位，从业人员44人，多以修理钟表、家用电器、自行车为主。1985年，日用品修理有262家，从业人员613人，多为个体户。1992年，修理行业有337家，1999年，有373家。2000年，个体修理业户有254家，从业人员421人。2002年，达300家，从业人员506人，业务面不断拓宽，出现汽车、微机等新领域的修理行业。
