2007年，全市共有8个社区居委会，工作人员40人，办公用房面积均在150平方米左右，其中龙山社区达到300平方米。社区志愿单位达到120个，志愿者2000人。新城街道办事处被评为“全省和谐社区建设先进街道”，河西社区和桃花园社区被评为“省级文明和谐社区”，河西社区被评为“省级绿色社区”、“省级文明示范点”，肥城市被民政部核定为“全国农村社区建设实验市”。（吴元胜）
