    农历腊月初八，传说是释加牟尼成道之日。该日佛寺内诵经，并效法佛祖成道之前牧女献乳糜的
传说，以香谷、果实等做粥供佛，谓之“腊八粥”，后渐演变为民间习俗。传统认为腊八又是济贫的
日子。旧时，有些官宦、财主，腊八“舍粥”，以示“慈善”。现今每逢腊月初八，各家早饭多用大
米、小米、红枣、绿豆、花生等煮腊八粥，午饭吃水饺。近年来，不少人在腊八用醋腌“腊八蒜”。
