    1988-1992年， 桃园镇委、镇政府坚持一个中心、两个基本点，强化了农业
的基础地位，突出了镇 (村) 工业的主导作用，国民经济发展一年一个新台阶。
1990年工农业总产值8684万元，1991年1.13亿元，1992年工农业总产值达到1.55
亿元， 比1988年增长3倍，工业产值占工农业总产值的比重，1989年为42.8 % .
1992年上升为59.8 %。固定资产投资1992年1500万元，是1989-1991年的1.5倍。
