    1986年以来，市内国民经济得到持续快速健康发展，经济运行质量逐步提高。
2000年，全市实现国内生产总值86.74亿元，年均增长14.6%；其中一、二、三产
业增加值分别实现12.19亿元、47.61亿元和26.94亿元。分时期看，"七五"时期，
国内生产总值年均增长23.6%；"八五"时期年均增长11%；"九五"时期受亚洲金融
危机的影响，速度放缓，年均增长9.9%。
    15年间，全市地方财政收入得到较快发展。2000年，全市地方财政收入实现
36973万元，年均增长15.9%。"七五"时期，地方财政收入平均增长23.7%；"八五"
时期年均增长5.1%；"九五"时期年均增长19.7%。
