　　1987年，全县60岁以上的老年人占总人口的10.1%，进入“老年型”县行列。1997年，老年人口比例上升至11.45％。1999年8月30日，全国老龄委主任王照华来宁阳检查指导工作，挥笔题词“为老年人服务无尚光荣”。2000年，县老龄委办公室被授予全省“老龄工作先进集体”称号。2002年，全县老年人口9.08万人，占总人口的11.37％。
