　　1986年，全县残疾人近3万名。1991年1月，建立宁阳县残疾人联合会；7月，全县20个乡镇建立残疾人联合会，其职能由乡镇民政室承担。1992年，全县有残疾人3.32万名，占全县总人口的4.05%。2001年2月，乡镇残疾人联合会调整为12个。2002年，全县残疾人数量约占总人口的4%。
