    日观峰北有巨石斜刺苍穹，似躬身向北，称“拱北石”。又似起身望海，故又称“探海石”。石长6.5米，与地面夹角为30度。上有“绝妙”、“醉石”、“船石岩”题刻。登临其上可尽赏旭日东升之壮丽场面，亦可晴览山色，阴观云海。是泰山象征标志之一。
