    日观峰南为舍身崖。三面陡峭，下临深壑。旧时常有人为祛父母病灾，祈求神灵，跳崖献身。明万历初年巡抚何起鸣在崖侧筑墙阻拦并立碣“爱身”，遂更名“爱身崖”。1965年在围墙南端开一圆门并顺崖畔建凭眺石栏。崖上有巨石突兀，高约3.3米，上刻“瞻鲁台”，俗称“幡杆石”，因传孔子曾登此望鲁而得名。
