    境内有道教、佛教，伊斯兰教、基督教，伊斯兰教教民最多，其次是基督教。1985年区划时，原泰安市（县级）和泰山景区的道教和佛教的寺院划归泰安市（地级）文物局和民族宗教工作办公室管理。其余教别由泰山区政府民族宗教办公室负责管理。1993年11月6日，泰山区民族宗教办公室合并到中共泰山区委统战部。1994年6月15日，中共泰山区委统战部增挂泰山区政府民族宗教办公室牌子。
