    1985年10月，泰前办事处泰山小学划归山东农业大学。年底，全区管辖小学106所，教职工1302人，在校小学生25007人，入学率为97%。1986年9月，建三友小学。1987年9月，泰城小学实行划片招生就近入学。1994年，实行小学合校并点，小学减至82所。1996年8月，建迎春小学，当年招生2个班，100人。1999年，省庄、邱家店镇所辖23所小学划归泰山区。粥店办事处所辖14所小学校划归郊区。2000年，全区管辖小学85所（含教学点），教职工1567人，在校生23456人，入学率100%。
