    孟氏子孙享受教育和科举取仕的优待。元世祖忽必烈中统二年（1261年），在曲阜设立了孔、颜、孟三氏学；明万历十五年（1587年）又增曾氏，为四氏学。明清两代试科举时，每科额加一二人给四氏学，而实际上每次科举中举都在3名以上。一般百姓无法享受优遇，以至冒充孟氏族人者有之。
