    该会成立于1982年7月3日，其宗旨是弘扬祖国历史文化，研究孟子思想，促进两个文明建设。孟子学术研究会有会员51人。在山东省社会科学院和济宁市社会科学联合会支持配合下，1984年和1988年在邹县举办了2次全国性的孟子思想学术讨论会，并出版了《孟子思想研究》学术论文集2册。
