    清末，邹县曾设置户房负责管理籍帐、婚姻、田宅、杂徭、道路等民政事务。
    1913年，邹县行政机关称邹县县公署，下设4科，民政为第一科。1929年9月2日，邹县县公署第一科改称邹县知事公署民政科。1933年，邹县县政府内设一科、二科、三科、四科、五科，仍由县政府第一科管理邹县境内民政事务。
