    旧时，境内居民染有一些不良习俗。少数人有赌博、吸毒甚至卖淫嫖娼等恶习，妇女缠足和信神信鬼、信命运者较为普遍。居民家庭一旦逢“事”，则请人占卜、算命、看风水、择吉日，或求神拜佛、烧香许愿，或请巫婆神汉招魂驱邪。一些迷信职业者乘机探口气、猜心理、作法事，招摇撞骗，诈取钱物。建国后，政府采取说服教育、宣传科学知识和取缔迷信职业等行政措施，恶习陋俗很快清除，迷信活动大为减少。但近几年一些不良习俗时有发生，农村老年妇女中封建迷信的影响禁而不绝。
