    敕建府第  孔子死后，其嫡裔多住在阙里故宅，称“袭封宅”，至金元时期，袭
封宅仅有房屋18间。明初，朱元璋下诏设置衍圣公官署，特命在阙里故宅以东兴建府
第。明弘治年间重建，形成前官衙后内宅，3路布局9进院落的格局。清道光年间，重
修扩建，厅、堂、楼、房达到460余间。

      赐官邸  明仁宗即位时，衍圣公进京朝贺，在京城租赁民宅居住。仁宗知道后
说：“外蕃贡使皆有公馆，衍圣公假馆民间，非崇儒重道意”。于是赐第于东安门外。
英宗赐衍圣公一处更大的宅邸。1646年(顺治三年)清世祖又在太仆寺街赏给衍圣公一
座大第，即北京的衍圣公府。
