    1939年11月建立的汶西抗日民主政权，设司法科，兼理审判。1948年汶上县第二次解放后，仍设司法科。1950年10月，改建为县人民法院。1980年10月24日，建县司法局，主事法制宣传、民事调解等司法行政工作，同时设公证处和法律顾问处。1984年5月机构改革后，下设人秘股、宣传股、调解股、共13人。各乡（镇）配司法助理员1人。
