    1946年1月，嘉祥县抗日民主政府设立工商局，1949年1月改为工商科。1956年8月撤销工商科，其业务归商业局。1970年1月，县革命委员会设立工商行政管理局革命领导小组，1972年2月撤销，恢复工商行政管理局。1990年，局内设办公室、人事股、监察股、市场管理股、企业登记管理股、个体私营经济管理股、商标广告管理股、经济合同管理股、经济检查所和消费者协会；下设1处直属工商管理所和18处乡（镇）工商管理所。工商管理系统共有干部职工176人，其中局内干部职工50人，局长1人，副局长2人。
