    1950年5月，设立嘉祥县人民检察署，1955年9月改为嘉祥县人民检察院。1958年11月撤销嘉祥县建制。1962年1月恢复嘉祥县建制后，设嘉祥县人民检察院。
    1968年2月对公、检、法实行军事管制，公、检、法统称“嘉祥县公安机关军事管制小组”。1973年5月军管组撤销，恢复公安局和法院，不设检察院，检察业务由公安局办理，内设检察股。1978年10月，重建嘉祥县人民检察院。
