    建国前境内共发生地震26次，其中1937年8月1日早、晚发生两次地震。27日又震，房屋略有倒塌。1966年3月邢台地震，金乡有感。1976年唐山地震，金乡有动感，全县进行防震。1983年11月7日，菏泽地震波及金乡，全县有15人受伤，1967间房屋倒塌，40100间房屋震裂，经济损失1152.3万元。
