    唐初传入金乡。贞观四年（630），在寿河西岸建有光善寺。元，县城西北15里建有寿圣寺。明，重修霍堌寺。天启五年（1625），在缗城堌堆建金典寺。1934年，境内寺庙198处。清末和民国期间，佛教徒教务有僧会主持。
    建国初，佛教徒1人，至1990年，仍住在缗城堌堆金典寺，活动停止。但个别家庭仍有供奉如来、观音者。
