    1956年，县委、县人委办公室设1名干部负责信访工作。“文革”中信访混乱。1979年11月，设县委办公室信访科；1981年4月，设县政府办公室信访科。1984年，县纪委、县人大、县法院、检察院恢复建立信访室（科），各乡、镇设专职信访助理员。1986年10月，县委、县政府信访科合并，成立金乡县信访办公室，设正、副主任3人，副科级检查员2人，工作人员5人。1990年，各乡、镇信访助理员为副乡级。
